Legoland – Chadstone Shopping Centre

RubberTough Industries was sought out by Legoland Discovery Centre, after viewing recent successful projects on our social media in other commercial facilities. We were invited to revitalize a dull existing foam surface in two of their indoor play spaces. Due to our reputation and showcase of previous works, we were asked to put forward our own suggestions on design, colour and materials. After some thoughtful and on theme discussions, we collaborated with Legoland on two different designs to complement each play space. “Farm” theme for the Duplo play space, decorated with farm animals, and an “Emergency Services” theme in the larger play space to match the play features in that room. Stencils were used to compliment the farm animals, placing footprints in the surface to give the feel of movement in the room. In the Emergency services theme, a road / bike track was incorporated with road markings. This design gave life to the underutilized surface previously covered in uninviting foam tiles.
